“An honest misunderstanding?”

Well, let’s hope that’s the worst that happens to Watusi on stage!

I guess there is a down side to working so far in advance (yes, I’m maintaining a number of strips in the can): I’d already planned this to be a short-term transformation before I heard how popular Flytusi was with you readers, and had drawn past that point. That makes it harder to do “on the fly” (if you’ll pardon the pun) additions to take immediate advantage of your feedback; I’ll just have to find some other way to make use of Watusi’s fly version in the future…

“Be careful what you ask for!”

What the BUZZ?!?

A big thanks to Steve Keeter for the enthusiastic review of my comic strip (“getting better all the time”); he reviews new and classic comics over on YouTube– check out his ClassicComicMan’s channel for more! And if you want even more Watusi,  check out my effort for Tom Cherry’s “Draw Jackie Jokers Day” event right here for a Watusi cameo…

“Makin’ the rounds”

Yes, I’m jumping ahead to a more … temperate time of year for Wonder Valley Weekend, ruling out the chance for a Christmas strip this year. However, if you’re jonesing for a more festive comic fix, be sure to check out Mike Sullivan’s “Last Christmas” and Brien Wayne Powell’s “A Handsome Carol.” Not only do their strips have plenty of holiday elements… but they’ll actually finish them in time for Christmas! That’s something I’d be hard pressed to do, given my Halloween comic’s run time…

Hope you have a Merry Christmas if you’re celebrating, a peaceful weekend if you’re not!

“My favorite weekend”

In addition to drawing more parts of Wonder Valley for the last storyline, I’ve also been sketching Watusi’s hometown quite a bit in order to get a better feel for it as a setting. All of that has whet my appetite for a longer, more involved storyline set there. I’ve written the first couple of months already, and am really looking forward to where it’s leading…

And as I’m looking forward to that, I’m also thinking about my creative resolutions and goals for the new year. There are a couple of (long overdue) projects I’d like to finish, but I thought I’d also ask my loyal readers: is there something you’d like to see me do, whether it’s in this strip, in print, or using one of my other characters? Not making any promises, but it might be interesting to see what’s suggested … you can post below or contact me via email!
