Wonder if Teebo has anything left in his bag of tricks?

In other news, I’ll also have my entry in the Lawrence Public Library‘s Banned Books Week Trading Card project on display during the first week of October. Stop by the library during a special after hours Final Fridays event this Friday, September 28, at 7:30 pm or anytime in the coming week for a peek at it– and all the other entries, as well. Beginning Sunday, September 30, the first of the seven winners will be available as a trading card; look for a new one debuting each day at the library and at the Lawrence Arts Center.  Collect ’em all!

Looks like making good use of their time is what all these characters need right now!

Thanks to everybody who stopped by to visit me at last weekend’s Free State Comicon. I had a great time, and you can see a little of what went on there on Watusi’s facebook page … including the first part of an improvised comic story created at the show!

Whattaya know!?! It looks like Teebo is going to get away with his scheme after all!!

If you’re in the neighborhood, I hope you’ll stop by this Saturday’s Free State Comicon and say “hi”– it should be a good time, and the Douglas County Fairgrounds will be packed with comics and comic creators … some even more famous than me! I’m planning on improvising a Watusi jam comic at the event and will need some help, so bring your drawing pencil! Don’t worry; I’ll have some spares if you forget…

Looks like a battle royale is on the horizon!!

While you’re waiting for that, you might like to pop on over to my friend MisterWinterMan’s blog and download your very own Watusi paper toy! A longtime cartoonist and early contributor to Watusi’s jam comics, he’s now turning his creativity to paper toys …  and the results look pretty good, I must say!

This month also marks 30 years since I started my first ongoing series; you can read about that– along with my very first comic– at smearysoapboxpress.com
