“Getting back to normal”

While things feel far from normal for me at the moment, at least Watusi’s return to the land of the living is going smoothly!

For those of you who’d like a little peek at my process and plans for my creative work, you can read the compiled results of my reader survey here … and find out how that information will affect my priorities for the year here.

I also have a couple of art events coming up in the next few weeks; if you’re in the Memphis area, I hope you’ll stop in and check them out:

  • The Memphis Arts Collective is hosting a one-day Valentine Extravaganza on February 4 from 10-5 pm at Crosstown Arts (430 N. Cleveland Ave., Memphis, TN). Over 20 MAC members will have special goodies for sale you can share with your loved ones!
  • The opening reception of Nasty Women Memphis, a locally-focused show affiliated with NYC’s Nasty Women art exhibit, is being held at Marshall Arts Gallery in Memphis, February 10 from 6-9 p.m. The show runs February 10-19, 2017.

Watusi’s not one to think about the future, it seems…

I want to thank the wonderful Tom Cherry for all his help with this run of “daily” strips. When I decided I wanted to try this little experiment, I knew I’d need help paring down my verbose writing style, and Tom certainly has that gift, as seen in “Those Funky Idiots” and his other comics. If you are enjoying this run of strips more than usual, you have Tom to thank; if not, it’s likely because I should have heeded his advice better!

“Monologue with unseen audience”

Looks like there is some well-earned closure in store for Sir Watusi, too … even if Watusi can’t tell he’s there to receive it!

I wish you all the best for a happy 2017, readers; thank you for following along on this storyline throughout the year. By the way, if you haven’t done it, there’s still time to take my reader survey and get a FREE downloadable copy of Festive Funnies before 2016 is over and done with. I plan to share the results early next year.

“It’s a Solstice miracle!!”

strip397

…I mean it has to be a miracle if Watusi can be so generous to Mitchell, right? I hope everyone has a happy winter … and my sympathies to those of you who feel like you’ve been knee-deep in it already!

There’s still time to take my reader survey and get a FREE download code for Festive Funnies; it features some rarely seen Watusi comics, and will be timely reading for the week ahead.

“Moment of truth!”

strip396

Huzzah! It looks like it’s an early Xmas present for the Professor! For Mitchell, maybe not so much…

If you haven’t yet, there’s still time to take my reader survey (and get a code to download a free .pdf comic for your troubles). I’m learning some interesting things about my readers as part of this which will definitely affect my plans for 2017 in a good way. Look for a compiled report sometime in January…

“Welding on the fly”

strip395

The moment of truth is nigh! Let’s hope the Professor’s as good at spot welding as he is at beard growing…

As the year winds down, I’m taking a survey of my readers, and I would love it if you’d take a moment to answer some questions about my comic and your reading habits/interests. There’s a free .pdf comic in it for you if you do it before the end of 2016! The survey starts right here.
